Married the former Meredith Holcombe at Summerall Chapel on Dec. 18, 1993. She gave birth to our firstborn Preston in 1997 (hopefully class of 2020!), and our daughter Abby in 2000. Transferred from the Air Force Reserve to the SC Army National Guard in 2000 (after 13 years), and have spent the last 15 enjoying serving our Palmetto State and nation with the National Guard. After working at Joint Force HQ-SC for eight years, I was truly blessed to be selected to serve here at our alma-mater the last two years where I've had the great privilege of teaching our AROTC seniors. This will be the final year of my tour here before I go to my next assignment. Love these kids and every day I'm reminded of how great it is be surrounded by our nation's best and brightest Patriots.

The one which always comes up is the moment all of us F-Troop knobs were being marched back across the parade deck by Cadet Cadre Platoon SGT Lacy (after getting our Knob haircuts), and he yelled out: "What the hell you looking at Bell?"

My HONEST response: "Sir, the American Flag atop 2nd BN Sir!"

Lacy's response (as our classmates fought back the laughter, and he struggled to respond): "Well ... well, just keep your head and eyes straight forward Bell."

So set the stage for this naïve, country boy from Stanfield, NC to be running a LOT of company tours around Padgett-Thomas Barracks.
